Cthulhu is a fictional creature created by American horror author H.P. Lovecraft. It is often described as a monstrous, tentacled being that lies in a deathlike slumber beneath the ocean, waiting to rise up and bring about the destruction of the world. In Lovecraft's stories, Cthulhu is depicted as a powerful and ancient being that is revered by a cult of worshippers who hope to one day awaken it from its slumber.
